Create a heart themed sampler quilt using your embroidery machine while learning 20 embroidery techniques, as well as ways to manipulate embroidery to create enhanced effects.
Class will be once per month for six months, and you will create two or three blocks per class.
Class fee: $90 for six classes.
Fifteen designs are $45 payable to teacher.
This class is best suited for machines that use at least a 5”, 120mm wide hoop size. Designs will come in three sizes: 120, 150, 200 mm. Overall size of finished sampler will vary according to design size and number of design repeats as desired.
Supplies: Machine with embroidery unit and hoop.
Embroidery thread, and bobbin thread.
Mesh cutaway stabilizer
Thin batting or fusible fleece
Applique scissors, rotary cutter, ruler
Fabric suggestion: To give you some time to plan your colors, for the first class use muslin and three solids for first three blocks.
For the actual finished quilt you will need:
Background fabric print or solid, contrasting “heart” fabric, coordinating embroidery thread, various scraps for the crazy patch (class 4) and confetti (class 3).
Sparkle organza, ¼ yard, optional (class 1)
1/8” and 1/4” Ribbon (class 3)
Insertion lace, double needle, 2.5 (class 5)
Class 6: Assembling the blocks with sashing on point.
